There’s a few things I’ve learned in life: always throw salt over your left shoulder, keep rosemary by your garden gate, plant lavender for good luck, and fall in love whenever you can. William Shakespeare

The bumble bees were busy on the lavender in the garden today. Apparently (according to Sussex University) their love of the plant is due to the length of their tongues!

Later Famer B and I walked ‘the bounds’ through the orchards of Rubens and Braeburn. They are beggining to ripen and the blushes of red are starting to creep across their green flesh.

The chickens we are ‘house sitting’ are still refusing to lay it appears they have gone all broody and are sulking since their last lot of eggs were taken. Looks like there will be no cake this week 😦
